NetErr=7 is a common error. It is a problem with your internet connection to the Guild Wars server. It could be any number of problems. Check the connection from your computer to the internet. Next check your ISP. After that you can blame ArenaNet, but that shouldn't happen very much.

It may help out but I always use a direct ethernet connection and I will sometimes get the dreaded neterr 7 message. I have not had a problem with it lately (couple of weeks) but the day that I did it seemed to be neverending. I think in my case it may have been more of an issue with my ISP or the GW servers since it has not been a problem since.

If you currently don't get many disconnect errors, just keep your setup the way it is. If you get disconnects more than once a day, I'd look further into it.
Call your ISP and check the system. Also, go to www.dslreports.com and check the speed test. Do it a few times so you can get an average. There are also tests for lost packets and other things that might give you the disconnection error.

i get disconnects very often all of a sudden.
It just started about 1 week ago and i have problems logging in.
It will spend about 2 minutes at the Log in screen sayin "connecting....." then will FINALLY take me to my characters. Then I click "Play" and it says "connecting....." and doesnt stop. ever.
it really sucks.

This is a really common Err. I get this oftenly myself to. The easyest way to get rid of this or help to prevent it is to turn your graphics all the way down. Including the options in advanced such as 'visual Quality' (this wont go down all the way if you set the graphics bar all the way to the left). Turning off all three of the sounds types in the game makes a difference to.

I was playing around with the graphics settings a few hours ago, and set them all to high. (game looks killer like that and runs great on my setup) Next thing I know I start crashing, and getting netErr=7 messages. I have a feeling that this might be a bug or my comp can't handle it.
Either way it sucked, I was trying to complete the ashes of althea quest and half way there(for about 7 try's LOL) I would crash... not enough sleep lol ...looking for a solution didn't even cross my mind.

In response to the question about you both using WiFi connection.....first of all is it a B, G or one of the new MIMOs or something else?
The thing to remember is that when you share a wireless connection you reduce the bandwidth of the connection. I suspect that you probably had issues due to this or perhaps interference from a cordless phone or other device.
